My Key Executive group is off and running with a fantastic presentation from Stephanie Shippers.
Stephanie really rocked the house with her presentation. I’ve seen MANY MANY professional speakers, but I’ve seldom seen a speaker as gutsy as Stephanie. (I mean, seriously. How many times have you seen a speaker crawling around on the floor to make a point?) But you know what? It worked. We were all entranced by her presentation and her message. Here’s what we covered:
- Identifying differences in learning styles and how these affect work/personal choices
- Understanding the language and habits of learning styles and strategies for spotting each style
- Understanding how to use learning styles to enhance team communications; handling conflict produced by learning style differences
- Hiring the ‘right’ person for the right job
While I enjoyed the speaker, I really enjoyed watching the group. I love to see those lights come on for these execs. Several mentioned to me that this gave them great insight into working with their direct reports. “I see now why so-and-so doesn’t get it I explain it to them,” one said. Stephanie went on to suggest tips to this exec with an eye to improving understanding.
